The Linhof 617 is a dedicated panoramic camera custom designed in Germany to capture wide format images in the ratio of 3:1. The camera is a film camera, not your typical one as it has no batteries, no light meter just a dark box with lens on the front, it is a little bit more sophisticated than that but on a very basic level that is what the linhof is, photography at its most basic level.
